About us

The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences( https://www.uni.lu/fhse-en/ ) (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences.

This position is part of the Climate Nexus Framework Convention signed between the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity and the University of Luxembourg. This five-year initiative (2025-2030) aims to make Luxembourg climate-ready by integrating research, education, policy, and public engagement to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and socio-economic challenges.
Your role
The doctoral researcher will contribute to the Social Readiness pillar, which promotes citizen science, sustainable lifestyles, and youth engagement. The role will focus on evaluating existing environmental participatory processes and contributing to the co-development and continuity of the Klima Biergerrot, in line with the coalition agreement (2023-2028).
The selected candidate will be involved in:
Reviewing existing environmental participatory processes
Designing a participatory process adapted to the Luxembourg context
Supporting implementation in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity
Creating synergies with the other pillars of the Climate Nexus project
Evaluating the process from a comparative perspective

Strong initiative and adaptability
A strong interest in deliberative and participatory processes; experience in designing or evaluating participatory processes is an asset
Solid knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods
Language Requirements:
