About
This one-week summer school is dedicated to molecular and nanoscale chirality, combining fundamental knowledge, cutting-edge research presentations and an interdisciplinary approach. The programme is designed for Master and doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows and young researchers in chemistry and materials science.
Participants will follow a scientific programme delivered entirely in English, built around advanced topics in molecular chirality, nanostructures and chiral spectroscopy. The summer school features internationally recognised experts, including a strong representation of Bordeaux-based researchers
Course aim
The summer school integrates several active learning approaches.
Participants will take part in hands-on laboratory sessions delivered with academic and industrial partners. They will also present their own work through flash talks and posters, providing opportunities for detailed feedback and discussion, including any challenges encountered in their research.
List of the courses delivered:
- General introduction on chirality (E. Hillard)
- Synthesis (S. Bellemin-Laponnaz)
- Supramolecular chirality (R. Oda and Y. Ferrand)
- Chiral spectroscopies (F. Riobé and M. Atzori)
- Chiroptical property prediction (B. le Guennic)
- Chiral separation (N. Vanthuyne)
- Chirality at the nanoscale (G. Handzlik and E. Pouget)
- Homochirality, Origin of life (speaker to be confirmed)
- Chirality and electrochemistry (A. Kuhn)
- Chirality in pharmacology applications (G. Coquerel)
- Platforms, spectrometer presentations (PEPR LUMA, Jasco, Enantios)
