Reading lies at the heart of the Thames Valley in south east England, and has the fastest-growing economy in England. The main Whiteknights campus is set in 160 hectares of meadowland and parkland and won the Green Flag Award in 2011 as the highest-rated University campus in the scheme’s national People’s Choice Awards. The town centre is well within walking distance of the University’s Whiteknights and London Road campuses – or take one of the buses from the Whiteknights campus which run every seven minutes. From the recently expanded mainline rail station in the town centre it is only 30 minutes to central London, and trains run throughout the UK. The M4 motorway, which connects London with South Wales, is on the edge of town. International airports Heathrow and Gatwick are also in easy reach.

All halls of residence and student village are situated on campus or a short distance away, within easy distance of each other and the centre of Reading. Rent includes bills, Internet, basic contents insurance and cleaning of communal areas. Halls are safe and secure with on-site wardens, security patrols and CCTV; there is a 24/7 hotline for any problems. There are also social committees who help students to settle in.
