Newcastle University’s 50-acre campus is right in the city centre, at the heart of what has been consistently voted one of the best student cities in the UK. Newcastle is a compact city that is renowned for its hospitality and nightlife, rating in the top 10 nightlife destinations in the world (Tripadvisor). A world-class cultural destination with museums, galleries and theatres housed in stunning architectural buildings and an array of restaurants and shops liningthe picturesque streets. The nearby MetroCentre is one of Europe’s largest shopping and leisure complex. Newcastle borders the county of Northumberland, with its ancient castles and unspoilt coastline. The Metro rail system (which has a station opposite the campus) connects the city to nearby suburbs, the airport and the coast. A good road network provides fast motorway links with all major cities in the UK; London is around 3 hours by train and Edinburgh is around 1.5 hours.

A range of catered and self-catered, en-suite and standard accommodation for all budgets and preferences. Most residences are within 10 minutes' walk of the city-centre campus, and some are on campus. All first-year undergraduate students who meet the criteria and apply before the deadline are guaranteed a place in university accommodation.
