Freiburg University is located in the centre of Freiburg, the fourth biggest city in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The city centre campus and the natural science campus are only five minutes walking distance from the local tram stations or a one hour bus ride from the Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg.

Freiburg University's Student Services offers residences for 4,000 students within 15 different dormitories throughout the region of Freiburg. For all of the student residences in Freiburg, summer semester applications must be made from in January or February and winter semester applications in July or August, using the online application system. The University's student rooms monthly rate ranges from £162 to £215.
