Freie Universität Berlin is located in the south west of Berlin, in the garden district of Dahlem, which was recognised as a top-ranked location for research and study in the early 20th century.
The main building (Rost- und Silberlaube) is easy to reach by metro (U3 line, stations Thielplatz or Dahlemdorf) and by bus (line M11 or X11, Hittorfstraße stop).
Berlin has two predominate international airports with construction of a third in progress.
