The demands of the MPAcc Program require that all students have a thorough understanding of the English language. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is mandatory for all permanent residents, immigrants and international applicants. The TOEFL is not required for international students who graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited English-speaking institution where all classes are taught in English. If you will graduate from a U.S. school, you do not need to submit English scores. The TOEFL score is evaluated along with the verbal portion of the GMAT to determine how well a candidate is prepared to actively participate in classes conducted in English. We require a minimum iBT of 100 or 7 on the IELTS. TOEFL scores are useful for two years, and the scores must be sent directly to the University of Washington from the testing center. Do not ask the MPAcc Office to download or verify your scores. You must have the scores sent electronically to our school from the testing center and the scores will be loaded into the UW admissions system. You should see your scores on the Application Status page when we have received your official scores. Our school code is 4854. Each applicant must take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). We do not accept the GRE. We advise applicants to take the examination early. You should submit your complete application even though you may have a later test date. If you have a test score, please submit a photocopy of the test score you receive at the test center. There is a five-year limit on GMAT scores. When you take the test, inform the Educational Testing Service (ETS) that it must forward your scores to the University of Washington. The Foster School’s code number is 459-75-41. We will hold your scores on file for one year.
