School of Engineering and Materials Science at the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) seeks applicants for PhD research projects in Biomedical Optics. The positions are available now and the successful students are anticipated to start before October 2017.
This project aims to develop new optical devices for healthcare applications in diagnosis, imaging and monitoring. The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team to design, implement and test new medical devices. The final stage of the project may involve testing the device with end users in clinical settings. Candidates with good first degrees in Optical Engineering, Fibre Optics, Optoelectronics, or Physics are encouraged to apply. A master degree will be an advantage. Travel may be required occasionally for collaborations with researchers from other universities such as Cambridge or Liverpool.
