Students whose TOEFL scores are below 600 (250 on the computer-based test; 100 on the internet-based test) will be required to sit for an English evaluation upon arrival in Iowa City. The Graduate College will require these students to take and pass recommended course work in English usage. This requirement is waived for applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree (or higher) at an accredited university in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada (excluding French-speaking Quebec), English-speaking Africa, Australia, or New Zealand.
