At the Center for Energy we are committed to creating cutting-edge solutions for tomorrow's transportation and energy challenges. Our key projects focus on the exciting world of future transportation systems, including e-mobility, energy consumption, and energy systems. We aim to understand and improve the impact of (e-)mobility on the energy system, helping to shape a sustainable future and contribute to the European Union’s climate goals.
As a PhD student for our team located in Vienna, you will have the unique opportunity to tailor your research topic based on your expertise, interests, and ongoing research. Your main goal will be to develop AI-based methods to create surrogate functions, speeding up evaluation processes during optimisation approaches. This work will directly contribute to the creation of a resilient and sustainable transport network and efficient electric vehicle charging management.
PhD Thesis “Sustainable AI in E-Mobility and Energy Integration”
CENTER FOR ENERGY
Advance statistical models related to user behaviour, charging strategies, and vehicle usage, integrating them into comprehensive mobility and energy system models.
Develop and apply new methods, conduct large-scale simulations, and analyse data to provide critical decision support for the mobility and energy revolution.
Interpret results and offer impactful recommendations for policymakers to advance climate targets, focusing on decarbonising the mobility sector.
Forecast the impacts of the (e-)mobility sector on the energy sector from 2030 to 2050.
Plan, execute, and evaluate studies independently, prepare results for documentation and presentation, and contribute to influential research outcomes.
Contribute to a sustainable future by presenting your findings at international conferences and publish in esteemed journals, gaining recognition in your field.
