peili wu
Dr Peili Wu is a senior scientist from The Met Office Hadley Centre in the UK. He did his PhD in meteorology from Imperial College London, followed by a postdoctoral in ocean modelling at Edinburgh University. He joined the Hadley Centre in 1998, as an ocean scientist, later became senior scientist, expert scientist. He has a broad interest in climate research, particularly air-sea interactions and the global water cycle. His most important contributions include mechanism of the AMO, aerosol impact on precipitation, hydrological hysteresis. His most recent research includes reversibility of climate change and extreme precipitation. His talk will explain how the global water cycle interacts with climate variability and change.
